Miss Conduct

Miss Conduct has been stirring up trouble in Eastern Iowa for almost 3 years now! Her art is characterized by its playful surprises, titillating with the unexpected (but very welcome!). Her performances incorporate themes of power reclamation, gender identity, and the body as a political weapon.

CHIMERA was named to reflect the path to healing from intersectional marginalization.

As individuals, our traits are sorted by others to be fetishized, discriminated against, or ignored entirely.

As a community, we are pitted against each other using our differences to prevent us from organizing- which is our power.

A chimera is a creature composed of many other animals, a collage of complex and nuanced identity.

Our communities, though comprised of very different people, are colorful, self-supporting, and strong when we work together.

Our unity makes us whole.
